No concept of a cheque
Cash-flow products are built on invoices and bank movements. Post-dated cheques, endorsement, bounced cheques and drawer risk aren’t in the model - the most critical part of the portfolio sits outside the screen.
CashEye/Cheques & Notes
Listing a cheque is one thing; seeing it in your cash flow is another. International tools don’t model cheques at all, and most local software keeps them in a separate list. CashEye treats every cheque as part of your portfolio, calendar, forecast and risk.
Where the difference is
Cash-flow products are built on invoices and bank movements. Post-dated cheques, endorsement, bounced cheques and drawer risk aren’t in the model - the most critical part of the portfolio sits outside the screen.
Entry, due-date tracking and endorsement are there. But the list stands alone: a maturing cheque doesn’t feed the forecast, delays don’t merge with customer risk, and alerts don’t lead to action.
Every cheque is written to the portfolio, calendar, cash flow and forecast at once. As the due date nears, alerts and tasks appear on their own; if it bounces, the impact shows on the horizon immediately.
Lifecycle
Every state change is written to the audit trail with who made it, when, and which value it changed from and to.
Bank, branch, number, series, account, place of issue, drawer, payee, due date.
Received and issued cheques are tracked in separate segments.
Endorsement, collateral, sending for collection; each step updates the account and the plan.
An approaching due date becomes an alert and a single task.
Collected, bounced or returned; risk and horizon update together.
Cheque scanning
Read a cheque from your camera or a file and let the fields land in an editable form. Image processing and text recognition run entirely in your browser, on your own device.
Setting expectations
In a finance product, an overpromise means a wrong record. So we state the limits up front.
With printed fields, a flat surface and good light, amount, due date and cheque number are read with high confidence.
Handwriting isn’t read reliably; the system flags it as low confidence and asks you to verify. Glare, folds, steep angles, blur and low light all reduce accuracy.
A one-time download on first use: the image processing and text recognition components download to your device once (roughly 35-40 MB, depending on the device). Later scans run from the browser cache. In return, your cheque image never goes over the network - a deliberate trade-off.
Record scope
A cheque record with missing fields means phone calls later. The form is complete from the start.
Portfolio identity, duplicate check
Customer risk and balance
Calendar, cash flow, forecast
Risk centre and audit trail
It doesn’t. Decoding, correction and text recognition run entirely in your browser. The only thing saved is the cheque fields you approve; the image, raw text and confidence data are not stored.
Yes - straight from the camera or by picking a file from the gallery. iPhone HEIC photos are supported too. Because conversion happens in device memory, shooting in JPG works more smoothly on older phones.
Every field carries a 0-100 confidence score and low scores are flagged. Amount, due date, drawer and cheque number are never saved without your approval, so a bad read can’t slip into the record.
Yes. Notes follow the same portfolio, calendar and lifecycle logic. On handwriting-heavy notes, scanning shows low confidence and asks you to verify.
Every cheque creates a cash-flow item on its due date and enters the forecast with a confidence weight. Confirmed and probable collections are never treated the same.
The due dates, risk and cash-flow impact of every cheque you hold, in one place.
